NCLEX-RN EXAM
INTERNATIONAL CENTERS:
February 09, 2006. The National
Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN),
www.ncsbn.org will begin NCLEX-RN
testing at International Pearson Professional Centers on April 1, 2006.
Appointments for testing will begin on February 15, 2006.
The new international Centers will
be located in Sydney, Australia; Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver,
Canada; Frankfurt, Germany; Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore,
and Chennai, India; , Chiyoda-ku, and Yokohoma, Japan; Mexico City,
Mexico; and Taipei, Taiwan. These new sites are in addition to centers
opened in January 2005, in London, England;
Seoul, South Korea; and Hong Kong.
The administration of the NCLEX
examination abroad does not contradict or circumvent any current board
of nursing process or requirement. All international candidates are
required to apply to the board of nursing in the state or territory
where they wish to be licensed before registering for the NCLEX-RN
examination. The NCLEX-RN examination fee for all candidates is US$200.
Candidates who elect to take the exam at an international site will pay
an additional US$150 when they schedule the examination.
English Exam
TOEFL iBT:
The CGFNS now also accepts TOEFL
iBT English exam scores towards the CGFNS Certification and the
VisaScreen Certificate program. Passing scores for TOEFL iBT are:
TOTAL 83 and Speaking 26 for Registered Nurses
TOTAL 89 and speaking 26 for Physical & Occupational Therapists
TOEFL iBT is an internet-based
version of TOEFL, measuring all four skills of reading, writing,
listening, and speaking. The scoring scale consists of one total score
on a scale of 0-120 and the four skills scores each on a scale of 0-30.

in Hong Kong, London, and Seoul. The exams
are administered by the Pearson VUE Professional Testing Centers.

In addition to the NCLEX-RN exam
fee (US$200.), the international centers charge a fee of US Dollars 150.00
plus any value added taxes applicable. The centers will offer two exams per day,
six days a week. The centers would have a capacity to accommodate
approximately 30 to 40 candidates at a time.
The candidates should apply to the
State Licensing Board in the US, where they intend to practice nursing and obtain
the State approval to take the NCLEX-RN exam. Only candidates with
State Authorization To Test (ATT) will be allowed to register for the
NCLEX-RN examination with the Pearson VUE.
It is rumored that
NCSBN is
considering centers in India and Philippines for 2006.
CGFNS Re-opens Exam
Center in Cochin, India
CGFNS is re-opening the exam center to administer
its Qualifying Exam for nurses in Cochin, India, beginning with the
November 10, 2004 exam. The exam center number for Cochin location is
851.
TOEIC and IELTS Scores:
CGFNS will accept test scores from the Test of English in International Communication (TOEIC) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for both the Certification Program and the VisaScreen™.
CGFNS will continue accepting test scores from TOEFL, TWE and TSE towards the Certification Program and the VisaScreen.
